I am an accomplished programmer, author, educator, speaker, and engineering manager with over 40 years of experience. I am expert in C, C++, Objective C, Swift, Perl, Python, PHP, SQL, and most web and mobile technologies. I have written systems, mobile, and application-level code for projects large and small. I hold a patent in database technology and have particular expertise in telecommunications, networking, email, databases, and audio technologies.

I am currently writing and delivering courseware for lynda.com, and have over 30 titles in their library. I am currently focused on delivering iOS- and language-related titles.

I am the author of the popular open-source utility bw-whois, that I freely distribute to the Internet community as a public service. I hold a patent for the database technology used in the The Web Music Database.

I have written or contributed to dozens of computer-related books and periodicals, including The CGI Book and Creative HTML Design.
